Our Approach
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
Creative Cohesion CIC is committed to encouraging equality, diversity, and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our service users, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. The organisation – providing goods or services and/or facilities – is also committed against unlawful discrimination of customers or the public.
We are committed to promoting and supporting those who have experienced racism, prejudice, and marginalisation by working to ensure that our activities, exhibitions and events are representative. We aim to offer opportunities to artists facing discrimination, and structural and systemic barriers. We aim to be self-reflective to be compassionate with application processes, more abundant and considerate with guidance and feedback, and more welcoming to everyone who approaches us.
Environmental Sustainability
We are committed to sustainable development (meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs) as a guiding principle within our work. Concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of this commitment. Our aim is to reduce the impact on the environment from our operations.
We strive to:
- Promote responsibility for the environment within the organisation and communicate and implement this policy at all levels within the workforce by using technology to reduce the need for travel, and improve consumption of energy and other resources.
- Using suppliers and working with partners who hold and actively pursue their own environmental policies.
- Minimise waste by reducing, reusing and recycling materials used in our exhibition productions, and workshops.
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation/regulations and ensure that our policies and services are developed in a way that complements this policy.
- Identify and provide appropriate training, advice and information for staff and encourage them to develop new ideas and initiatives.
- Promote and encourage involvement in local environmental initiatives/schemes.
- Using Fair Trade and more environmentally friendly products where possible.
- Provide appropriate resources to meet the commitments of this policy.
